Standards, Discipline, and Accountability

Always have high standards for yourself, those you call your close friends, your business, and life in general.

Have the discipline to uphold those standards.

Most importantly, hold yourself Painfully Accountable for your actions and inactions.

Example: I am in my 28th day of running an average of 4 miles a day, Everyday as punishment for not running for 29 days through this pandemic of 2020. To many this may not seem like much. However, I was a very heavy smoker for over 20 years, decided to start running a year ago in my 40’s and I am 250lbs+ people my size just don’t do that.

The thing about excuses, is that they are usually valid, I can make my case that I was justified for not running those 29 days which I didn’t have a day off in, although the previous 3 weeks I didn’t have a day off and yet managed to still run a few times per week.

The fact is that not a soul will hold me accountable for my actions or inactions more than myself.

No one is bought into me the way I am. After all, I’m stuck with me for the rest of my life right.

Someone once said integrity is what we do when no one is watching. Well Accountability is too.

I will always have higher standards for myself, my business and for those who I may call my close friends. Much higher standards than may be expected of myself.

I will always have the discipline and courage to go through the journey and hardwork of keeping those high standards.

No one will ever have to hold me more accountable than I will always hold myself.
