Who are you?

As time goes by, I’d like to say that I’m rid of my ego. Then I realize that’s my ego talking as if I’ve achieved some higher ranks in life. Truth is I am no one on my own.

If we’re truly honest with ourselves, if we can set aside our ego, our dark wolf, we have to admit we’re no more than a canvas. If we’re not too full of ourselves and maybe we try to be an empty vessel of sorts, we can realize we’re only a continuation of our ancestors.

Sure, I’ve had my own experiences throughout life but if you think about it, you likely took those experiences in and dealt with them based on what you was taught and based on the genetic evolution of your mind and spirit that has been passed down by your ancestors.

I sit here humbled by the thousands of years of evolution that I carry around within my genes every day. To think that many of times I can’t see passed the last week or month. How silly of me. What an honor it is to have been given such an amazing gift. What an honor to be able to add some value to this genetic evolution and pass it on for thousands of years further into the evolution of future generations to have yet been thought of.

What kind of character traits would I like to pass on? What genes would I like to pass on?
What will create the strongest generations? What will add value to the world?

Well I surely know what traits I would love to dissolve as much as possible;

Excuses.
Laziness.
Emotional weakness.
Lack of self control.
Complacency.
Idle thinking and discussions.
Fear.

Knowing the great responsibility passed onto me, I would like to add value and pass on traits such as;

Bravery.
Grit.
Determination.
Emotional IQ.
Drive.
A contemplating mind.
The importance of questioning everything.
The art of conversating about life and ideas.
Meditation.
Reading.
Loving hard.
Family values.

I know we usually give spidy the credit. However, I believe it was Voltaire who first coined the phrase “with great power comes great responsibility”. We should really ponder this.

Our egos usually make us think this life is all about us, yet there’s so much more to “us” than I imagination can even think about.

I am a piece of the puzzle. Nevertheless, my ancestors make up the other 999 pieces to this puzzle I call life.

I credit this week’s celebration of my grandfather turning 100 for the above thought provoking realization.

Cheers!
Live Responsibly ❤️
