Excuses

5/18 For the year of the Vision, this has been extremely interesting and we’re not even half the year in.

Many folks got a much needed break from the hustle and bustle. I don’t think most asked for this break but I don’t hear many complaints about not working.

Like many folks out there I never stopped working. As a matter of fact I have worked a heck of a lot more through these last seven weeks.

I find happiness that many got a break, many got to catch up on time with their kids and reading. Looking at how packed the local Lowe’s and home depot stores have been, I find joy in knowing many got to catch up on that honey do list.

Although I am happy for everyone else, I find myself frustrated at myself. I was unable to go to the gym. I stopped running. I stopped eating as clean as I should be eating.

5/19—- So I paused after writing the above and realized I hadn’t ran in 29 days… So I ran two miles with my kids —-

5/20 Just got back from a 5 mile run

It is simply amazing how the spirit works. I’ve embodied a spirit of “if I know better, why am I not doing better?” Because of this, I was triggered to run after calling myself out for the first few lines above. Calling myself out for giving excuses.

If you know better, do better!

This blog was going to be about me complaining on how I’ve gotten in a rut but I do believe it is about how easy it is to get out of one.

I ate really clean yesterday and I shall do the same today. I am about to go for another run.

It is time to get back on the horse and make this my healthiest year yet.

One day, one step, one bite and one challenge at a time.

Cheers! Live responsibly
