Patience or effort?

Nobody wants to live with regrets. However we often refrain from taking chances that could lead us to a brighter tomorrow.

We too often make excuses for ourselves with, “well I might have not met such and such or had my kids, etc.”

What if the truth is that you could’ve optimized your life and added value to others with your unrealized potential?

Will we ever know? Not likely. Wayne Dyer said it best, “the proof that it was meant to be is the fact that it happened”. As beautiful as that statement sounds, I believe that a different decision could have been a better one.

I myself rest uneasy with terms such as “trust the process”. “Let go and let God”. I reckon at times those words are comforting. Especially when one has no choice but to hope and wait.

Nevertheless, in large, we do have the opportunity to take life by the horns and push along.

Maybe what’s meant to happen is for you to give life a push start, prove to life, God, the universe the effort you’re willing to exert in order to achieve the results you can only dream of. The Bible may say ask and you shall receive but it also says to work heartily.

Someone once said “I rather choke on greatness than nibble on mediocrity.” Furthermore, we know as we know one plus one is two that hard work works.

I don’t know if my best is effort or patience driven but I do know from science class in grade school that energy cannot be created nor destroyed, only transferred. My best guess is that in my effort to achieve my results I am transferring energy to my unrealized dreams.

  1. As briefly discussed, I find that most of the time WE place restrictions, restraints, & limitations on ourselves in the form of doubt, negative self-talk, fear of failure, or shame. Once we are able to offload / unshackle ourselves from these internal forces, we’re are then able to fly freely and reach heights never before imagined. This leads me to believe that it’s less about having to plow through outside forces that constrain us than it is internal forces that restrain us. The question is what can we do to begin to lighten the load?
