Is it ok to be mediocre & live an average life?

I’d like to be nonjudgmental here and say that it’s ok to live however you choose to live your life.

I guess the better question is, should you live a mediocre life? The answer to that question is absolutely no!

Is your existence mediocre? That’s a huge no. Your existence literally took a miracle.

According to science alert.com “The probability of your mother’s egg and your father’s sperm having all the right DNA to make you you – and not a slightly different person, like your sibling – being 1 in 400,000,000,000,000,000.”

So if it took something extraordinary to create you, why not live an extraordinary life? Honestly, what gives you the right to live a life that is not extraordinary?

To live an extraordinary life people do different things.

Some of those things;
Travel
Excel in their careers
Live a fulfilling life within
Live in the service of others
Live with purpose and on purpose every day
Challenge yourself daily or often
Have intentional and extraordinary relationships
Becoming a great leader to help others

I don’t think living an extraordinary life needs to be public or proved to anyone in order to achieve it.

Nevertheless, at times others may very well notice. I for one live in such a way that hopefully people do notice. Not for attention but for awareness.

I want others to be aware that they can and likely should venture outside their comfort zone in order to live a more than average fulfilling life.

I try to challenge myself in different ways, I try to have amazing rich relationships and I try to be as intentional as possible and live every day with purpose.

Try is a very important word here because I don’t always succeed. I fail at times, I come short at times, I fall into autopilot at times, I make excuses at times, but I’m really good at getting back up and not giving up on me because I wasn’t given up on by my creator, mother, father, and whoever has always believed in me.

Is it ok for you to love a mediocre life? Maybe. Or maybe I’m saying that to make you feel ok.

Should you live a mediocre life? Absolutely not.

Get up, get out and get some, somehow, someway make your mark. Live your life to the fullest.

  1. We’ve been given an unfathomable gift of life. It’s ludicrous not to make the best of the gift by living it intentionally with meaning and purpose. Thank you for being a model in doing just this and inspiring so many to do the same.
