Mondays vs Fridays

Why are we always looking forward to the weekend?

Why do we embrace the day of rest with no plans in place?

Why don’t we enjoy Mondays?

Why are we reving up for Friday on hump day (Wednesday)?

I think we really need to reflect on those questions.

Unless you’re planning on going on a vacation, adventure, grind or actively going to do something great with your kids why are you looking so forward to that day off?

Are we in a rush to plop in front of the TV for a Netflix marathon?

No breakthroughs in life come through sitting in front of a TV or sleeping.

Greatness is achieved through hard work.

If anything Breakthroughs are often achieved through absolute exhaustion.

I run a lot, but I hate to run. The first couple miles are hard work and dreadful, but I know that after the 1st few miles I’m going to get in my zone past my exhaustion where my mind opens up and I achieve my breakthroughs.

I built amazing relationships in the midst of hard work. I made myself proud in the midst of hard work. I’ve gained respect for others in the midst of hard work.

I can’t say any of the above of my days off.

Don’t get me wrong, we all need rest. However, I see more excitement about Fridays and more complaining about Mondays than I feel I should.

The end of most things is usually a moment of mourning.

The beginning of most things is usually a moment of celebration.

Yet we act in a very opposite manner when it comes to growth.

My mind, body and soul are growing, maturing and getting stronger when I’m working hard not when I’m resting.

Just a little Monday thought after seeing one of those dreadful Monday memes
